Job description

Aviya Aerospace Systems is a leader in engineering services and solutions for mission critical Aerospace and Defense applications. Aviya provides expertise in program management, systems, software, mechanical, and hardware engineering to many top-tier Aerospace and Defense Contractors. We have openings for Software Verification Engineers to join our engineering groups in Mississauga, Ontario and Longueil, QC.
Specific Position Duties
  • Work as part of the Software team on activities associated with the validation,ย verificationย and release of embedded software solutions forย airworthyย control systems.ย You will help ensure the safety and reliability of flight control systems through rigorous software verification.ย 
  • Reviewย software architecture, high levelย requirementsย andย low levelย requirementsย against product and software requirements.ย 
  • Conduct source code reviews and analysis to ensure compliance with design documents and standards.ย 
  • Perform Requirementsย Basedย Testing (Unit Testing (UT), Software Integration Testing (SIT) & Hardware/Software Integration Testing (HSIT) as per DO-178C Level A, B and C guidelines.ย 
  • Contribute toย process improvements and performย additionalย related duties asย required.
Qualifications for Position
  • Bachelor's orย Master's degree in Computer or Software Engineeringย (Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering considered with Computer Science minor).ย 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience inย airworthyย software verificationย followingย DO-178Cย standard orย equivalent safety-critical certification standards (medicalย orย automotive).ย 
  • Proficiencyย in Cย and C++ programming languagesย for embedded softwareย development.
  • Experience withย scripting languagesย (Pythonย orย Perl)ย forย test development and automation.ย 
  • Familiarityย with version control systemsย such as Git or SVN.ย ย ย 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Self-learner withย anย ability to take initiative to improve their own skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience withย Matlab/Simulink toolsย orย Pytestย is an asset.
  • Familiarity withย assembly languagesย and the intricacies ofย low-level codingย are an asset.ย 
  • Familiarity with Rational DOORSย Toolย and Problem Reporting Toolsย areย an asset.ย
