Summer Line Dancing information

What is a summer line dancing instructor?

Summer Line Dancing instructors are professionals who teach line dancing classes during the summer months, often at camps, community centers, festivals, or recreational events. They guide groups of participants through choreographed dance routines, usually set to country or popular music, making the activity accessible to all skill levels. Their responsibilities include demonstrating dance steps, ensuring safety, and creating a fun, inclusive environment for everyone. These instructors often have experience in dance and a passion for helping others enjoy this social and energetic activity.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a summer line dancing instructor?

To thrive as a Summer Line Dancing Instructor, you need strong dance technique, knowledge of various line dance styles, and experience in teaching groups, often supported by dance certifications. Familiarity with music editing software, sound systems, and basic first aid may also be required. Outstanding communication, energy, and the ability to motivate and engage diverse participants are essential soft skills. These qualifications ensure classes are safe, enjoyable, and accessible to students of all skill levels, fostering a positive learning environment.

What are common challenges faced by instructors teaching summer line dancing classes, and how can they be managed?

Instructors teaching summer line dancing classes often encounter challenges such as varying skill levels among participants, outdoor weather conditions, and maintaining high energy during warmer months. To address these, instructors typically plan adaptable routines, ensure hydration breaks, and create a fun, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation regardless of experience. Collaborating with event organizers to secure shaded or indoor venues can also help ensure classes run smoothly and safely.

Job description

Launch Your Career with Cool Clients, Creative Campaigns, and Cutting-Edge Data
Forget the clichés about advertising. You don't need a marketing degree to succeed here. Sure, we hire people with degrees in marketing and business. But some of our best employees have also come from backgrounds in neuroscience, finance, psychology, and music-and members of our team are also DJs, cake bosses, bedazzlers, world travelers, rock singers, athletes, and poets. At Gupta Media, your quirks add to your qualifications. If you don't fit into a box, you'll fit in perfectly.
About Us
Gupta Media was founded over 25 years ago on the idea that advertising could create huge leverage in our clients' businesses. Our work initially focused on the entertainment industry, specifically live events and recorded music (SXSW, Sony Music, Universal Music, and Disney Music Group are all clients). We have grown to include global brands (Amazon, Sophia Learning), major sports franchises (X Games, Florida Panthers, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Cavaliers, Women's Tennis Association), as well as public sector institutions (City of Boston, Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism).
The Role
As a Media Coordinator, you'll play a key role in launching paid media campaigns, analyzing results, and making data-driven decisions to deliver exceptional client outcomes. Our hands-on Medley:Onramp training program will teach you everything you need to know about platforms like Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok, plus the strategies that make them work.
Here's what you'll do:
  • Master Digital Marketing: Build, optimize, and manage campaigns across top platforms. You'll learn how to target audiences, A/B test ad copy, and measure success using metrics like CPM, CPC, CPV, and CPA.
  • Communicate with Confidence: Develop the skills to interpret complex data and share insights that matter. Whether crafting a report or explaining trends to clients, your ability to tell a story with numbers will set you apart.
  • Leverage Analytics: Data is at the heart of everything we do. You'll work with tools like Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Analytics while applying formulas, functions, and calculations to uncover trends, solve problems, and deliver results. If you enjoy predicting outcomes (be it a fantasy league or Dancing with the Stars), you'll feel right at home.

Who You Are
We're looking for recent grads who bring energy, curiosity, and a can-do attitude. You...
  • Have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.3.
  • Have a passion for marketing and advertising, along with a desire to dig deeper into what makes good advertising great.
  • Possess a solid working knowledge of spreadsheets (know the basic functions and an advanced formula or two).
  • Enjoy diving into and talking about data, numbers, rates, and what they could all mean for your clients and campaigns.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities like a pro.
  • Are a leader in your own right-whether you captained a team, led a student org, or carried group projects across the finish line.
  • Have a drive to keep learning, growing, and asking "what's next?"

Why Gupta?
At Gupta Media, we believe in fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and a little bit of competition (ask about our summer softball leagues). We prioritize in-office work because we know that the best ideas happen when we're working together. Beyond the work, we're passionate about supporting a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates different perspectives.
How to Apply
Let's skip the generic cover letter. Instead, we want to see:
  • Your resume, of course.
  • A supplemental response that shares with us a glimpse into why this type of role is right for you. You'll have a choice of prompts, so pick the one that checks your boxes and give us your best answer. We will read them!

Work Environment
Gupta Media is an office-first organization.
Compensation
At Gupta Media, base salary is one component of our total compensation and benefits package. For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $58,000 - $62,000, depending on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. This role is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan, which is based on the company's performance.
We offer a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and pet insurance; Flexible and Dependent Care Savings Accounts; a 401(k) with up to 5% Safe Harbor contributions; paid time off; paid family leave; commuting and wellness stipends; and opportunities for professional development and career growth.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US for at least 3 years.
