A Summer Role That Actually Matters
Summer is in full swing at East Gate Kids, and we have an immediate opening for a Summer Camp Teacher to join our team. At East Gate Kids, our summer program is one of the most dynamic seasons of the year. We serve families intentionally, build community deeply, and create structured, joy-filled experiences for school-age children. We are looking for energetic, responsible leaders who want to do more than supervise.
We're looking for leaders who can manage a group of children with confidence, keep activities moving smoothly, and maintain strong safety standards - while still creating an environment kids are excited to be part of. You can make a big difference creating the kind of memories that shape a child's confidence and friendships for years to come.
This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Partner with families during one of the most memory-filled seasons of childhood
  • Build leadership skills that translate into future education or youth development roles

We believe summer camp should feel organized, safe, and exciting - not chaotic.

• Can manage high energy without losing structure
• Enjoy planning and playing games, doing various activities, and creative group challenges

  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and maintaining organized spaces
  • Communicate professionally with parents during drop-off and pickup
  • Maintain compliance with New Mexico childcare licensing and safety standards
  • Support life-skills-based activities (teamwork, responsibility, leadership)

Additional Responsibilities (As Needed):
  • Drive center vans for field trips (non-CDL)

  • High School Diploma or GED; degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Experience working with children (camp, after-school, childcare, church, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced classroom environment
  • Valid driver's license (for driving roles)
