Position Summary Information
Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Are you interested in positively impacting students' lives? We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and innovative adjunct instructors for the Accounting Discipline who are committed to student retention and success. Instructors are responsible for establishing and promoting an effective learning environment with emphasis on the college's commitment to belonging, equity and diversity - to maximize student learning. Instructors may be assigned to teach introductory and general courses in traditional classroom and/or blended/hybrid settings as needed in the Accounting Discipline at Delta College.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of and ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Use of email, internet-based resources, and common Office software
  • Ability to teach in a variety of formats, including incorporating online learning systems
  • Understanding of ADA requirements and willingness to create accessible materials
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Understanding Delta Mission/Vision/Values

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor's Degree in any subject with at least 18 hours of successful graduate level coursework in Accounting Discipline, or a Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Professional Accounting Certification (CPA or CMA)
  • Education must include US GAAP Accounting
  • Minimum of two years professional work experience in the accounting field
  • Ability to teach on a Delta College campus
  • Ability to use online teaching resources and platforms

Additional Experiences Considered
  • Teaching experience at the community college level
  • Online teaching experience and/or online teaching certification
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, or at least 18 hours of successful graduate level coursework in Accounting Discipline
  • Professional Accounting Certification
