Position Information
Job Title Summer Facilities Assistant Position Summary
The Summer Facilities Crew is responsible for ensuring residence hall rooms are in move-in condition for summer operations, for the completion of facilities related projects in the residence halls, for the upkeep and maintenance of the residence halls throughout the summer months and for setting up and breaking down rooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare rooms for the summer in the Residence Halls.
  • Prepare all guest rooms in a timely and organized manner.
  • Conduct room inspections prior to guest arrival and after departure.
  • Assist with light cleaning sweeps (i.e. taking out trash, wiping down counters) for camp and conference rooms.
  • Perform lounge checks on a regular basis to ensure clean and comfortable spaces for guests.
  • Assist with key checks throughout buildings previously occupied.
  • Occasionally assist with large weekend check-ins.
  • Occasionally assist with key/combo preparation or audits.
  • Receive and document all Residence Life deliveries.
  • Manage Summer Housing storage spaces on campus.
  • Inspections of Residence Halls:
  • Inspection of residence halls and surrounding grounds area, and entry of work orders as needed.
  • Work closely with a variety of departments to successfully execute summer operations.
  • Must be a current, full-time Texas Wesleyan University student.
  • Due to the constant changes to the working environment in this position, additional duties may be added or retracted from the current job description at the time the need arises. The student will be informed upon changes.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses Experience
Must have and maintain both a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5

  • Knowledge and ability to complete given tasks and assignments thoroughly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with a rotating schedule consisting of weekends, late nights, and holidays.
  • Must be able to take direction from the Facilities Crew Supervisor
  • Must have the ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
