Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support University Housing as a Desk Assistant on the Swainsboro Campus beginning Summer 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Provides front-line staffing support to residence hall front desk and customer service operations within University Housing
  • Assists in the opening and closing of the clubhouse daily
  • Maintains and tracks office hall inventory and supplies
  • Assists with lockouts and conducts weekly key audits
  • Issues and tracks residence hall equipment at the front desk
  • Maintains desk cleanliness
  • Provides tours to prospective students and participates in University Housing's portions of recruitment events such as Eagle Preview
  • Supports students by providing customer service responses for issues that may arise in the hall, including notifying additional staff as situations arise
  • Assists with University Housing's Operations

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 25 hours per week

    • Sunday and Satuday, 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
    • Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
