We are seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to join our team and support our client in Ashburn, VA. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience building modern web applications and backend services in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role is well suited for a hands-on developer who can move between front-end and back-end development, translate high-level requirements into scalable technical solutions, and contribute effectively to mission-focused delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and unit test RESTful microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and JUnit.
  • Build and enhance web applications using modern front-end technologies such as Angular, React, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Develop application components that communicate effectively with backend microservices and enterprise data sources.
  • Write complex SQL queries and support data modeling activities to meet application and reporting needs.
  • Participate in technical design, development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities across the software lifecycle.
  • Work collaboratively with developers, engineers, and stakeholders in a large Agile team environment.

Work Experience and Job Skills:

  • Nine (9) or more years of technical experience in software development is required.
  • Strong experience with microservices architecture and service-based application design.
  • Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot development.
  • Experience developing REST and SOAP web services.
  • Experience with AWS-based development or deployment environments.
  • Familiarity with Angular, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, and JSON.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, JPA, and Hibernate.
  • Comfortable using development tools such as Eclipse and Visual Studio Code.
  • Experience working within an Agile development approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to take high-level requirements, ask clarifying questions, and deliver results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of strict degree requirements, based on client standards.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Relevant software development, cloud, or Agile certifications are a plus.
  • Additional technical certifications may be considered based on program needs.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to present ideas, resolve issues collaboratively, and work effectively across a variety of technical skill levels.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust position and favorable suitability determination based on a CBP background investigation is required.

Travel:

  • This is a hybrid position based in Ashburn, VA, with onsite support expected one to two days per week and additional onsite presence as required by mission needs.

Environmental Requirements:

  • Mainly a routine office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Flexible in working extended hours.
