What is a summer film script reader?

Summer Film Script Readers are individuals hired, often temporarily during the busy summer months, by production companies, studios, or talent agencies to evaluate and provide feedback on submitted film scripts. Their main responsibility is to read screenplays, write coverage reports summarizing the story and assessing its strengths and weaknesses, and recommend whether the script is suitable for further development or production.
