Job description

Does teaching yoga at 1640m (5380ft) above sea level with stunning panoramic views sound ideal? We are seeking a certified Yoga Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis this Summer. You will be responsible for designing and leading yoga classes suitable for various levels and abilities. You will then lead guests on hikes to or from your yoga class. You may work closely with other staff members at the resort, such as hiking guides, mountain biking instructors, or events staff, to coordinate activities and events. Overall, your role as a yoga guide would be to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that allows guests to experience the benefits of yoga in a unique and breathtaking setting. Compensation Information: $20.35-$21.35 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium (M); work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; both in an indoor & outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:

  • 19 years of age or older.
  • Current First Aid recognized by the province of British Columbia.
  • Yoga Teacher Training Course.
  • Previous guiding experience.
  • Experience teaching yoga to guests of all ages.
  • High level of fitness able to undertake all on Mt tasks, free of injury.
  • Mountain travel knowledge, training, or related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Sun Peaks Resort hiking trails.
  • Second language skills are an asset.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide group and individual guests with the best hiking and yoga experience by delivering all programs in a safe enjoyable and fun manner then completing all requested daily administrative duties.
  • Appropriate risk assessment for hazards, features, and trail choices.
  • Assess guests skill levels and plan appropriate activities.
  • Follow all relevant company training procedures.
