Job description

On-Field Host / Emcee (Seasonal)
Battle Creek Battle Jacks | Summer 2026
About the Battle Jacks
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks are Southwest Michigan's summer baseball team and one of the fastest-evolving fan experience brands in collegiate summer baseball.
Under new ownership, the organization is reimagining the ballpark experience with live music, themed nights, premium hospitality, community storytelling, social content, and entertainment-driven baseball designed for modern fans and families.
Every game is more than baseball. It's summer in Battle Creek.
The Opportunity
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks are looking for a high-energy, charismatic, and crowd-driven On-Field Host / Emcee to become one of the faces and voices of summer at MCCU Field @ Bailey Park.
This is not just a microphone job. This role is part sports entertainment, part live event hosting, part crowd quarterback.
We're building something different in Battle Creek. Every game is designed to feel like an event, and we need someone who can instantly connect with fans, families, players, sponsors, interns, and our game presentation team to bring the ballpark to life.
The ideal candidate thrives in front of a crowd, can think on their feet, understands pacing and live entertainment, and knows how to create unforgettable moments between pitches.
If you can command a stadium, make kids laugh, hype a sold-out crowd, improvise when things go sideways, and keep the energy rolling for nine innings, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary on-field emcee during Battle Jacks home games and select special events
  • Host and execute between-inning promotions, contests, giveaways, sponsor activations, and fan engagement moments
  • Work alongside the PA announcer, production team, mascot, interns, and stadium staff to create a seamless game-day experience
  • Conduct live interviews with fans, players, coaches, sponsors, and special guests
  • Create crowd energy and engagement throughout the game while understanding baseball flow and timing
  • Deliver sponsor messaging professionally while keeping entertainment authentic and fun
  • Help build traditions, recurring bits, and memorable in-game moments fans talk about after the game
  • Engage with fans in the stands, concourse, hospitality areas, and on the field
  • Represent the Battle Jacks brand with professionalism, energy, humor, and community pride

Who We're Looking For
  • A natural entertainer with strong microphone presence and crowd engagement ability
  • Someone energetic, outgoing, quick-witted, and comfortable improvising live
  • Ability to command attention in front of thousands of fans
  • Strong understanding of sports entertainment, pacing, and fan psychology
  • Comfortable working closely with live production, music cues, and timing changes
  • Passion for baseball, live events, family entertainment, and community engagement
  • Professional, reliable, coachable, and adaptable under pressure

Preferred Experience
  • Sports emcee or on-field hosting experience
  • Public speaking, broadcasting, theater, improv, or live entertainment background
  • Experience working live events, concerts, promotions, or fan engagement
  • Knowledge of baseball and game flow strongly preferred
  • Social media/video personality experience is a plus

Schedule & Availability
  • Must be available for Battle Jacks home games throughout the summer season
  • Nights, weekends, holidays, and special events required
  • Some appearances, media shoots, sponsor events, and community activations may be included

Work Environment
This role operates primarily outdoors at MCCU Field @ Bailey Park in a fast-paced live entertainment environment. Candidates should be comfortable performing in front of large crowds, moving throughout the stadium, and working in summer weather conditions.
Compensation
  • Per-game compensation based on experience
  • Opportunity for additional paid appearances and events

Interested applicants should send a resume, short introduction, and video samples (if available) showcasing personality, hosting style, or live event experience.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
Job Questions:
  1. What is your previous experience with emcee/hosting at large events?
  2. How far will you be from Battle Creek this summer?
  3. Will you be able to commit to 36 home dates from Monday to Sunday, with ongoing engagement with our front office team.
