Job description

Job Summary

Based in Jacksonville, FL. Hauling through the Southeast Region, home on weekends.

We are hiring a Class A CDL Drop Deck Driver to support operations for a specialized trucking fleet. This role is primarily field-based and requires a strong understanding of safe driving practices, load securement, and jobsite coordination. This is a working driver position focused on execution, reliability, and operational awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Drop Deck trailer and other specialty equipment as assigned
  • Safely transport materials and equipment to and from job sites
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly
  • Secure loads in compliance with weight limits and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with the Fleet Manager on routing, scheduling, and job requirements
  • Support equipment positioning, pickups, and deliveries
  • Follow all DOT, safety, and company operating procedures
  • Maintain basic driving logs and required compliance documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR check
  • Experience operating heavy or specialized trucks
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and respond to changing schedules
  • Willingness to travel and handle occasional after-hours or last-minute assignments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with drop deck trailers
  • Oversize / overweight load experience
  • Familiarity with jobsite environments and construction coordination
  • Basic mechanical awareness of trucks, trailers, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience working with small fleets or startup operations
