Job Description
Interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, security, or public service? Determine if a career in these fields is suitable for you by joining the Kishwaukee College Cadet Corps. As a cadet, you will acquire an understanding of how a public service department is managed and functions. We will provide you with opportunities to gain experience and will help prepare you for your future in your chosen field. Cadets must have taken and passed 9 semester hours of Criminal Justice courses
Qualifications/Skills Required
Currently enrolled as a full time Kishwaukee College student with a minimum of 12 semester hours.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Illinois driver's license and a good driving record.
• No felony or disqualifying misdemeanor criminal convictions.
• Successfully pass a background investigation.
• Once a Cadet you must take a minimum of 12 semester credit hours each semester you are employed along with three credit hours in the summer. Cadets can declare any major but must have taken and passed 9 semester hours of CRJ courses or be enrolled in the EMT or Paramedic courses.
• Cadets must take courses that work toward completion of their degree or certificate.
• Cadets must maintain an overall 2.0 grade point average.
