Job description

Nestled in the heart of the California Redwoods, Alliance Redwoods Camp & Conference Grounds hosts thousands of guests each summer through church & non-profit retreats. We are currently hiring summer staff for our Summer Staff Program, which is focused on equipping leaders with the power of humility and wonder through community and creation through Leadership, Adventure, Service, and Training.

Candidates hired into the Summer Staff Program will reside at Camp for the duration of the program, and will rotate through various departments, carrying out a diverse set of responsibilities to support both our guests and the camp itself, and participate in various training and development opportunities.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate high-ropes challenge courses (ziplines, giant swings, and climbing elements)
  • Guiding adventure-sport activities (kayaking, archery, archery tag, hatchet and knife throwing)
  • Lifeguarding
  • Meet the needs of our guests and steward the grounds alongside the Accommodations and Maintenance teams.
  • Prepare, host, serve and clean up meals with our Kitchen team.
  • Serve our guests by assisting them at the gift store and answering questions with the Guest Services team.

Requirements:

  • Self-disciplined, flexible and reliable
  • Unwavering commitment to safety
  • Ability to handle crisis events and work under authority
  • Physically fit to meet the demands of hiking the trails and various challenge courses
  • Healthy respect for heights, and the ability to work at heights
  • Communication skills including phone etiquette and basic computer skills
  • Must be 18 years and currently enrolled in a university program
  • Christian actively living a Biblical lifestyle and have an interest in maturing in ones faith
  • Lifeguard/CPR/AED preferred
  • Experience in teaching, camps or youth work preferred
  • Must pass background check to be eligible for employment
  • Must be in harmony with ARCG Statement of Faith and ARCG Staff Values
