Job description

Job Title:ย  Summer Sports Camp Aide
Position Overview: The District is seeking a dependable and energetic individual to serve as a Summer Sports Camp Aide for our Summer Sports Camp sessions. This seasonal, part-time role involves assisting certified coaches in facilitating organized instructional activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting day-to-day camp operations for student-athletes. The Aide will collaborate closely with the Athletics Department to reinforce sport-specific fundamentals, promote positive team culture, and ensure all participants are supervised and engaged.
Camp Schedule & Contact Days:
All camp sessions are IHSA-approved and will be conducted from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.




June 15thย - June 18thย (4 Days)

June 22ndย - June 25thย (4 Days)

June 29thย - July 5thย (No Contact Days / Blackout Week)

July 6thย - July 9thย (4 Days)

July 13thย - July 16thย (4 Days)

July 20thย - July 23rdย (4 Days)

Total IHSA Contact Days: 20
Total Hours: 20 days 3 hours/day = 60 hours

Compensation: Camp Aide - $20 per hour

Qualifications Required Experience & Training:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; college enrollment or prior youth-sports experience preferred
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Completion of a basic concussion-awareness course before participation
  • Successful criminal background check and fingerprinting per Illinois School Code
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods outdoors and lift up to 25 lbs for equipment setup
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively with coaches and campers
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment that supports participants' personal and athletic growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with equipment setup and breakdown
  • Supervise small groups during drills, warm-ups, and skill-building to reinforce proper technique
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior
  • Facilitate age-appropriate warm-ups, drill transitions, and cooldowns under coach direction
  • Immediately report injuries, concerns, or behavioral issues to the lead coach or athletic trainer
  • Record attendance, track participant progress, and submit brief session summaries
  • Assist coaches in enforcing IHSA regulations, district policies, and health guidelines
  • Keep practice areas clean and organized
  • Check in regularly with the lead coach to confirm objectives are met and request support as needed
  • Attend required trainings and assist with special camp events
  • Provide miscellaneous support to the Athletics Department to enhance the camp experience
  • Communicate effectively with participant
  • Perform other duties as assigned
