Job description

Room Attendant (Housekeeping Department)
Job Purpose
Housekeepers clean guest rooms—they provide stayover service to in-house guests and provide checkout service for incoming guests. Housekeepers help create the best experience possible to resort guests, ensuring rooms are above cleanliness expectations and supporting the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide stayover service based on which type each guest chooses
  • Provide checkout service per the Housekeeping Training Manual—cleaning the room to ready it for the next guest
    • Note anything broken or missing from the unit
    • Note anything unable to be cleaned with the products available
    • Secure lost and found items left by guests
  • Deep clean guest rooms
  • Report any equipment or appliances not working
  • Clean up cart and closet at the end of shift
  • Return all items to their proper places
  • Promote The Osthoff Resort’s service principle by example—respond to/resolve guest inquiries, complaints or concerns in a courteous, timely and efficient manner. Make sure to inform a team leader of any problems.
  • Assist coworkers as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma preferred
  • Strong customer/ guest service skills
  • Must be able to work most weekends during summer and some holidays
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team
  • Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours each day—also be able to use stairs, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Must possess a positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment
  • Ability to exhibit a cheerful and professional demeanor towards guests and other team members
  • Must have the willingness to go above and beyond what is expected to create meaningful guest experiences
  • Be able to focus on detail and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess great time management skills, with the ability to think on the spot
  • Ability to learn quickly and accurately
