Job description

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Reports To:
      • OB Nurse Manager
    • Summary:
      • Employee is primarily responsible for the assessing the needs and caring for patients in OB during labor and delivery. Employee will be responsible for educating patients about postpartum and infant care needs. Employee also cares for infants in the nursery. Employee should have good communication and critical thinking skills. Employee normally performs the duty assignments using methods and procedures at his/her discretion and limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine effectiveness of job performance.
    • Work Schedule:
      • Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays, sometimes in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Education
      • ASN, BSN, Diploma Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
    • Experience
      • One to two years of related experience
    • Computer Skills
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
      • Must exhibit basic computer knowledge
    • Certificates & Licenses
      • Current registration with the State of Indiana is required. Certification inย BLS and neonatal resuscitation required.
    • Other Requirements
      • Math skills to calculate dosages. Ability to multitask. This position requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, lifting and carrying 0โ€“100 lbs and pushing and pulling 0โ€“100 lbs.
