Marketing Assistant

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Position Summary

The Marketing Assistant supports the firm's marketing and business development efforts across a variety of functions, including social media, event coordination, content development, and administrative support for the summer associate program. This is an entry-level generalist position at an AmLaw 200 firm, ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional. The role offers broad exposure to the full range of marketing and business development activities as the firm continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Schedule and publish content across the firm's social media platforms, with a focus on LinkedIn
  • Create monthly reports showing our social media activity and interactions with posts
  • Distribute branded email communications, including press releases and client alerts. This also includes disseminating collateral materials to all offices.
  • Help maintain client lists by creating and updating contact lists using ERM software in conjunction with current CRM
  • Manage the Marketing projects calendar
  • Assist in the development of graphics for email and social banners, invitations, and other digital assets
  • Maintain the stock image library; updating it regularly with new images that can be used for items posted to the website
  • Manage the marketing content on the SharePoint intranet site to ensure it remains current
  • Proactively manage social media and news items to promote full breadth and depth of the firm's culture and capabilities across all offices and practice groups.
  • Assist in the creation of ads and other design pieces.

Event Coordination

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and executing client events, sponsorships, seminars, webinars, conferences, and other logistics as needed.
  • Prepare event materials, including name badges, signage, attendee lists, registration packets, and promotional items as needed.
  • Attend events as needed to assist with setup, registration, guest management, and support post-event follow-up activities, including attendee communications and reporting
  • Manage promotional items used for client events; track closet inventory; work with Event Coordinator on new items: mockups, quantity, invoices, delivery to other locations

Business Development Support

  • Assist with the preparation of attorney PowerPoint presentations
  • In coordination with the firm’s Librarian, compile business intelligence research in preparation for client and prospect meetings, pitches, and other business development initiatives
  • Maintain and update matters and experience in our pitch and proposal platform

Summer Associate Program

  • Provide administrative support for the summer associate program, including scheduling candidate interviews, social outings, trainings and orientation
  • Post summer associate positions to relevant law school job boards for Cleveland and St. Louis offices.
  • Assist with communications to summer associates and internal participants
  • Help maintain program materials

General

  • Monitor shared inboxes and respond proactively to inquiries
  • Provide general support for the marketing team as the firm continues to grow
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 0–2 year of experience in marketing or business development, preferably at a law firm or other professional services firm; internship experience will be considered
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn

Preferred Experience

  • Design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Website content management systems (CMS)
  • Event coordination
  • CRM/ERM systems (HubSpot, SigParseror, or similar)

Competencies for Success

  • Service orientation and responsiveness to attorneys and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate sound professional judgment and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work
  • Comfortable operating as a generalist across several specialties rather than owning a single function.
  • Initiative in identifying and improving recurring administrative processes.
  • Collaborative disposition within a small, high-volume department.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs

Compensation

The target starting compensation range for this position is starting at $45,000 + per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, qualifications, skills, and other factors permitted by applicable law.
