Job description

Reveal Design Group is an award-winning architectural lighting design firm based in Chelsea, NYC, specializing in boutique hospitality, restaurants, retail, sports facilities, and high-end residential projects. With a team that brings backgrounds in architecture, art history, theatre, and fine arts to every project, our work spans the United States and internationally. We are seeking an Architectural Lighting Designer to join one of our five design studios, and we welcome applicants across experience levels, from emerging designers building their foundation to designers ready to take on greater project ownership.

What This Role Looks Like

As a member of a design studio you will contribute to multiple projects at various stages simultaneously. Day-to-day work includes producing CAD and Revit documentation, developing fixture and load schedules, compiling specification packages, performing photometric calculations in AGi32, and generating coordination sketches from redlines. You'll research fixture options, gather technical documentation, and work directly with renowned architects and interior designers. As you develop, you'll take on greater ownership of project segments, contribute ideas in design discussions, present work in client meetings, and support newer staff.

Experience and Skills

  • Entry level to 4 years of experience in architectural or theatrical lighting design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with AGi32 or other photometric calculation software is a plus
  • Understanding of lighting controls, either architectural or theatrical, preferred
  • Model making and 3D printing skills are a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple project deadlines
  • Degree in Architectural Lighting, Theatrical Design, Interior Design, or a related field preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $63,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.

Benefits include:

  • Subsidized medical insurance
  • Dental and vision insurance (fully covered)
  • 401K
  • 20 days PTO (vacation and sick combined)
  • Summer Fridays
  • IES NY membership
