Job description

SumBridge is hiring an Accounting Manager to join our Kirkland based client. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Accounting Manager will report to the Corporate Controller, manage a team of 2 direct reports and 6 indirect reports, and is responsible for managing the regular accounting cycle, which includes areas of financial reporting, month-end close process, annual audits, and overseeing AP, AR, and Payroll. This role is a hybrid schedule with a mix of in office and work from home time.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop the accounting staff
  • Lead month-end close process and prepare financial statements and related analysis in compliance with GAAP
  • Lead the annual audit and any other audit requests that come up
  • Create, maintain, and improve accounting processes and procedures, internal controls and system processes for efficient reporting
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for leadership that delivers a thorough picture of the financials, including variance analysis, interpretation, and budget vs. actual performance analysis
  • Coordinate and partner with the Corporate Finance team to meet reporting and audit requirements and participate in overall process improvement initiatives
  • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years in an equivalent role with a medium to large-size company
  • High proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and other accounting tools
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred; aerospace industry a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP; working knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation; experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition a plus
  • Experience and interest in managing an end-to-end process, which involves multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business performance and financial results; understanding and ability to articulate how the business operates
  • Ability to explain financial results/information to non-financial groups and individuals
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills, critical thinker, and an innate curiosity to find actionable insights in a timely manner
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to work in an unstructured environment, manage longer-term projects, and proactively identify solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with capability to start and maintain new relationships across many facets of the business
  • Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and math skills
