As our Utility Locator for our Survey and Geospatial Team in Northern California. you'll support critical infrastructure projects by identifying, mapping, and documenting underground utilities to help clients reduce risk, improve design accuracy, and support successful project delivery.

What You'll Do

As our Utility Locator, you'll perform utility investigations, collect and interpret field data, and develop accurate utility mapping to support engineering, design, and construction teams.

  • Utility Detection & Investigation
    Perform field utility locating using ground penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic locating equipment, conductive rodders, and other detection methods.
  • CCTV Inspection & Data Collection
    Conduct CCTV inspections of sanitary sewer and storm drain systems to support utility investigations and condition assessments.
  • Records Research & Documentation
    Prepare utility request letters, obtain utility records from service providers, and organize supporting documentation.
  • Utility Mapping & Drawing Development
    Interpret utility records, plot field-located utilities, adjust utility locations based on field evidence, and prepare composite utility maps and drawings.
  • Project Coordination & Communication
    Coordinate with engineering teams, survey crews, utility providers, and project stakeholders to support project planning and delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of utility locating or subsurface utility engineering (SUE) experience
  • Experience using utility locating technologies such as GPR, electromagnetic locators, conductive rodders, and related equipment
  • Ability to identify, verify, and document underground utilities using multiple locating methods
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
