CADD Technician I - Fort Worth, TX!
Halff has an immediate opening for a CADD Technician in our Subsurface Utility Engineering/Utility Coordination (SUE/UC) group in Fort Worth. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has specific experience with MicroStation ORD, Autodesk Civil3D, and TxDOT projects. What you will do:
  • Assist in the drafting of SUE/UC and other Fort Worth group projects, working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a Lead CADD Technician and Project Manager.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and plans based on utility record as-builts, field sketches, and survey of SUE field markings.
  • Modify existing drawings to reflect changes or updates as directed by project managers or engineers.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company and industry standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into the drawings.
  • Organize and maintain a digital library of drawings, plans, and related documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications before submission.
  • Support project coordination activities by providing technical assistance and ensuring timely delivery of drawings.
  • Operate CADD software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroStation ORD) and Bluebeam Revu proficiently to produce high-quality drawings.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in CADD technology and software, and participate in training and development programs as required.

What you will need:
  • 2+ years of experience as a CADD Technician/Drafter.
  • Associate's degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in MicroStation ORD and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Certification in CADD software (e.g., AutoCAD certification) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of engineering principles, technical drawing standards, and construction methods.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and sketches.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand project requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and documentation efficiently.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in drawings and design plans.
  • Efficiently manage time to meet project deadlines and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and support colleagues as needed.
