Job description

 A Classified Substitute replaces a classified employee in the event of their absence (can replace most school support staff except teachers and other staff who require a CDE License). Substitute jobs may be in-person or virtual.

Listed are common positions a classified sub may work: paraprofessional, classroom aide, secretary, school health office assistant, and librarian. Here is a list of classified jobs a classified substitute may work

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

The 2026-27 School Year Classified Substitute Pay:

Hourly- minimum hourly wage based on specific assignment (see 2026-27 Classified Staff Salary schedule B for more information on the TSD Substitute Portal).

This position does NOT receive benefits.

Classified substitutes can select when and where they would like to work (flexible schedule).
