Job Summary: Serves as a substitute in the school kitchen as needed, performing duties engaged in food operations at the school. The work assists in the accomplishment of the mission of the Woodland Public Schools of preparing students for career, life, and college so that they can become responsible and successful citizens. Work is performed under the direction of the Head Cook, the Food Service Manager, and the Executive Director of Business Services.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Working knowledge of food preparation practices
  • Ability to work around children and present a positive role model
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and visitors to the district
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Experience working in an institutional or restaurant kitchen
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds to stove level
  • Physically able to bend and stoop
  • Valid Food Handlers Card issued in the state of Washington
  • One year of job-related experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred
