Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Albany OR
Salary range: $30 to $ 36 per hour, plus 10% Swing Shift differential
Swing Shift: 4:00pm - 2:30am

Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, the CNC Machinist will set up production jobs on CNC mills/lathes in conformance with customer blueprints. This role involves documenting completed processes for transfer to production and defining the measurements of all critical features of produced parts.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machines, manual mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Machine parts to customer specifications from blueprints.
  • Write and edit programs at the machine controller using G Code.
  • Design and manufacture fixturing.
  • Assist operators in setup, tooling, and troubleshooting.
  • Continually improve cycle times, processes, setup, and tooling.
  • Provide input to estimators on machine run times, fixturing, and tooling requirements.
  • Verify conformance to dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts.
  • Develop programs for machines based on solid models and drawings using Master Cam.
  • Work closely with NPI teams to develop methods for manufacturing of designs.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Vocational training in metal fabrication or machining, with relevant work experience as a substitute.
  • Proficiency using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and height/depth gauges.
  • Thorough understanding of blueprints and geometric tolerances.
  • Functional understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of software used for Shop Floor Control/job tracking.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated individual.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus vocational training in metal fabrication or machining.
  • Certificate/degree in precision machining preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires standing for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, and reach.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks.
