About this Role
Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a driven and technically skilled Engineering Project Manager to support major power-generation projects based out of our Birmingham office. This role plays a critical part in delivering large-scale EPC initiatives across the power sector, including gas turbines, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and transmission systems.
The Engineering Project Manager will lead the planning, design, and execution of critical infrastructure projects, ensuring engineering deliverables are technically sound, efficiently executed, and seamlessly integrated across all disciplines. This role provides technical leadership and engineering oversight throughout the full project lifecycle while partnering closely with operations, procurement, client teams, and project stakeholders.
What You'll Do
  • Lead technical strategy and project execution across the full EPC project lifecycle
  • Serve as both engineering lead and project manager for complex design-build and EPC projects
  • Oversee multidisciplinary engineering deliverables and review technical documents produced by subcontractors and internal engineering teams
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with company standards, client requirements, and quality expectations
  • Manage engineering resources, staffing plans, schedules, and overall project performance
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier scopes, pricing, schedules, and invoice approvals
  • Collaborate closely with field operations, procurement, customer account teams, and project stakeholders
  • Mentor, train, and develop engineering personnel while supporting team growth and performance
  • Support business development activities including client meetings, technical presentations, and proposal development
  • Drive innovation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes
  • Promote and reinforce a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and integrity
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices to support innovative project solutions
  • Support construction execution and field coordination activities as needed
  • Perform additional duties to support project and organizational success

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Strong technical expertise across process, structural, civil, mechanical, piping, and electrical engineering disciplines
  • Deep knowledge of engineering and construction standards, industry codes, and regulations including ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, and NESC
  • Strong understanding of engineering workflows, multidisciplinary coordination, and full EPC project execution lifecycle
  • Experience with scheduling, contracts, procurement coordination, risk mitigation, and project execution strategies
  • Knowledge of project controls, estimating, forecasting, and cost/quality management practices
  • Proven ability to interpret complex business and technical challenges while developing effective, data-driven solutions
  • Strategic mindset with demonstrated success implementing engineering innovation and process improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in fast-paced project environments
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Employee may be required to visit job sites, field offices, and customer locations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting EPC or design-build projects in power generation, renewable energy, substations, transmission, or industrial infrastructure
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with utility-scale energy systems, commissioning support, and construction coordination
