Touchstone Wellness Center LLC is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Substance Use Disorder Mental Health Counselor to join our telehealth practice. This full-time remote position is designed for individuals passionate about supporting clients through their recovery journey from substance use disorders. • Perform comprehensive assessments of new clients to identify their specific needs, goals, and challenges in relation to substance use treatment.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at promoting recovery.

• Conduct individual counseling sessions that utilize approaches such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, adapting techniques to each client's unique situation.

• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that encourage peer support and shared experiences among participants.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and addiction specialists to ensure that clients receive integrated services, addressing both mental health and substance use needs.

• Provide crisis intervention support and guidance during substance-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

• Educate clients and their families on addiction, effective recovery strategies, and available community resources to foster a supportive network.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards as mandated for mental health professionals.

• Participate actively in team discussions, offering insights from your interactions with clients and contributing to the continuous improvement of treatment protocols.

• Stay informed about current research and advancements in the treatment of substance use disorders to ensure best practices are implemented.

You will primarily work with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, who come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The population includes those seeking recovery for various substances, including alcohol, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs. Your empathetic approach and understanding of the complexities of addiction will be crucial in helping clients find their path towards recovery.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required. Master’s or doctoral degrees will be advantageous.

• A current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is essential for this role.

• Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Experience providing individual and group therapy in the context of addiction treatment is preferred.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on a non-judgmental, empathetic approach to client interactions.

• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in accordance with ethical guidelines.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications is required.

• A strong capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• A minimum of one year of relevant experience working with individuals in a mental health or substance use treatment setting is preferred.

• Previous experience in telehealth services will be considered an asset.
