Compensation: $110K-$170K+ OTE
Location: Burlington, WA

Our client is a well-established leader in heavy civil and underground utility construction, delivering large-scale infrastructure projects for a diverse portfolio of clients including the Department of Transportation (DOT), federal and military agencies, aviation authorities, educational institutions, and environmental restoration programs. Their project expertise spans heavy highway construction, underground utilities, detention and drainage systems, fire and sanitary systems, sewer and storm water infrastructure, bridges, box culverts, and pump stations.

As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in driving the success of project pursuits by delivering accurate, thorough, and competitive construction estimates. Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, this position requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Travel requirements are minimal, at 10% or less.
Responsibilities
  • Read and review project plans and specifications, projecting costs for each item of work.
  • Prepare and present complete construction estimates.
  • Review bid documents prior to submission and assist estimating support staff in document finalization.
  • Solicit and obtain bids from vendors on materials and from subcontractors on labor.
  • Conduct site visits prior to estimate completion to ensure accuracy and informed decision-making.
  • Track and maintain cost and price masters by consistently updating information.
  • Communicate across functional areas of the business, including aiding Project Managers and Project Engineers with buyouts on successful bids, coordinating with design-build parties, and presenting information to project teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals for design-build projects and occasionally support other alternate projects.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge through awareness of trends, publications, networking, and professional associations.
  • Uphold company standards of quality in service and best practices.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience estimating projects exceeding $5 million in value.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, and/or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience with DOT, government/federal/military, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and self-manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass random drug screenings and background checks.
  • Project Management experience is a strong plus.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
