Job description

Description:

RD&S is seeking an experienced Pipefitter and Field Supervisor/Foreman to install industrial refrigeration systems at our client locations. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and have experience installing large industrial refrigeration systems. The Pipefitter Field Supervisor will lay out pipe from flow diagrams generated by the RD&S engineering department per IIAR piping standards. This person will report to the Director of Construction plus manage and support other pipefitters and welders on the crew to install systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; create working procedure based on specifications.
  • Understand and properly interpret flow diagrams and layout drawings.
  • Supervise construction crew and sub-contractors for efficient installation of each project.
  • Coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
  • Understand all weld procedures used by RD&S and perform visual quality checks throughout the installation of the system.
  • Report and resolve discrepancies in the drawings to RD&S engineering department and Director of Construction.
  • Visualize final pipe path and layout accordingly per IIAR pipe standards.
  • Complete as-built drawings daily and submit final as-builts to engineering.
  • Complete material take-off and place order with proper vendors.
  • Ensure all material specifications for equipment, pipe and other materials are being followed.
  • Complete daily/weekly work logs.
  • Travel to job sites as required; may need to stay out of town up to 10 days at a time.
  • Ensure all RD&S, OSHA and client safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Attend all company sponsored functions.
  • Attend company sponsored training as required.
  • Attend safety and construction meetings.
  • Hours: Monday-Thursday (4 10-hour days), plus voluntary overtime
Requirements:
  • Ability to properly fit up refrigeration, water, and glycol pipe.
  • Working knowledge of computer software, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
