Job description


SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector I monitors, conducts, and maintains essential quality department functions. Performs visual in-process inspections (torque witness, electrical crimp connectors, etc.). Performs visual/tactile final inspection of completed products and sub-assemblies, incoming electrical inspection, and maintains inspection records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

Performs in-process inspections (torque witness, electrical crimp connectors, etc.) and final inspection of completed products and sub-assemblies.

  1. Conducts visual/sorting inspection on a variety of components such as; machined parts, electrical components, printed circuit assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  2. Performs incoming inspection of electrical components, sub-assemblies to IPC-A-610 and J-STD International standards. Performs inspection of reworked assemblies and components.
  3. Maintains all Internal Quality and Supplier Records.
  4. Works with the Manufacturing and Reliability Team on quality related projects and documentation.
  5. Assist in the Internal Audit System by:
    1. Performing Quality system Audits.
    2. Preforming Process Audits.
    3. Perform ESD Audits
  6. Other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager
OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH

Represent Quality on the MRB Team, making decisions as to disposition along with Engineering, Inventory and Production. Interface with suppliers for all non-conforming material to be returned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Knowledge and experience, or ability to be trained in mechanical and electrical inspection as required, using all instruments shown above. Ability to learn new tasks and follow instructions, written or verbal.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer skills desired.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate verbally, read and write in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Good or corrected vision to perform visual inspection of small, fine detail components.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The candidate must have the ability to work in a Shop or semi-clean room environment.



7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., M-F, with some overtime including on Saturdays
