    Are you a passionate cosmetology school student or recent graduate ready to launch your career behind the chair? At Bob Steele Salon, our Stylist Internship Program is designed to bridge the gap between school and a successful, long-term career. If you're within 3 months of graduating-or just finished-you could be a perfect fit. You'll start as a pre-intern and will be in that role for at least six weeks. If selected to join our intern program you'll be well on your way to becoming a successful stylist.
    We offer a supportive, upbeat salon culture, top-tier education, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment that fosters growth from day one.
    What You'll Gain
    • $10/hr while in the pre-internship and internship
    • $11/hr once assisting on the salon floor
    • Hands-on training from seasoned stylists
    • Ongoing Monday classes + real-time salon learning

    Your Responsibilities
    As a Stylist Intern, you'll support service providers while learning directly through observation, education, and experience.
    Client Support:
    • Greet and assist clients throughout their service
    • Provide relaxing scalp massages (excluding color services)
    • Shampoo and condition hair, explaining product choices
    • Detangle and escort clients to stylist chairs
    Color Assistance:
    • Ensure clients are properly smocked for chemical services
    • Clean any color residue from the skin post-application
    • Record all color formulas accurately in client profiles
    Salon Operations:
    • Maintain clean shampoo bowls, mirrors, and stylist stations
    • Launder and store towels, smocks, and capes
    • Sweep floors and keep dressing rooms and bathrooms tidy
    • Sterilize tools and restock inventory as needed
    • Complete daily checklists and assist with salon upkeep
    Education: (for those selected for the intern program)
    • Attend weekly training classes with passing performance
    • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a desire to grow
    • Excessive absenteeism may result in removal from the program
