What you will have an opportunity to do:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Study Hall Rooftop Lounge Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for driving social and community related event sales and food & beverage revenue for Study Hall Rooftop Lounge and the Residence Inn Berkeley hotel function space. This role focuses on wedding lifecycle events, associated room blocks, working with local promoters, the university and on community events. In addition, creating inhouse promotions to draw in house guests and local citizens. Positioning Study Hall as a premier rooftop venue in Berkeley.

This position manages the full sales cycle, from lead response and tours through contracting and execution, while supporting targeted social media activation that generates qualified wedding leads. This role works closely with the Director of Catering & Convention Services, Culinary Team, Food & Beverage leadership, and Sparkle Digital Marketing to develop compelling wedding packages, seasonal offerings, and rooftop experiences. An active on-property presence is required for key events, activations, and wedding-related programming.

What are we looking for?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sales & Revenue Generation (Primary Focus)

Drive event sales for:

Study Hall Rooftop Lounge (welcome receptions, rehearsal dinners, after-parties, rooftop buyouts)

Residence Inn Berkeley function space (bridal showers, farewell brunches, indoor wedding events)

Primary wedding event focus includes:

Engagement parties

Bridal and wedding showers

Rehearsal dinners

Welcome receptions

Farewell brunches

After-parties

Wedding weekend events tied to hotel room blocks

Responsibilities include:

Proactively selling and closing business through outbound prospecting, referrals, planners, venues, and partnerships

Managing a consistent and accurate sales pipeline using CRM systems

Conducting personalized site tours highlighting rooftop ambiance, guest experience, and flexible layouts

Creating customized proposals and packages aligned with client budgets, minimum spend requirements, and profitability targets

Negotiating contracts, deposits, billing terms, and payment schedules

Driving incremental revenue through bundled offerings (rooftop + function space, room blocks, F&B enhancements)

Meet or exceed assigned goals for bookings, food & beverage revenue, buyouts, and room nights tied to wedding and social events.

Event Planning Support & Execution

Serve as the primary point of contact for Study Hall clients from inquiry through post-event follow-up

Prepare and distribute accurate event documentation (BEOs, timelines, floor plans)

Partner closely with Culinary, Banquets, Front Office, and Hotel Leadership to ensure seamless execution

Support service recovery and guest concerns in alignment with Pyramid Global Hospitality standards

Focused Social Media Activation

Collaborate with Sparkle Digital Marketing to promote Study Hall as a premiere destination

Support focused campaigns with content, messaging, CTAs, and on-site visuals

Convert social media inquiries and DMs into qualified leads and bookings

Participate in styled shoots, influencer collaborations, and content days

Ensure guest consent, brand standards, and compliance for all posted content

Partnerships & Programming

Develop partnerships with:

Wedding planners and coordinators, local event promoters, liquor distributors, university departments

Preferred vendors (florals, photography, rentals, entertainment)

Wedding venues and referral partners

Collaborate with the Chef and Culinary Team to design:

Wedding reception menus

Welcome reception packages

Rooftop brunch and farewell experiences

Lite fare menus for evening socials

Recommend and promote signature wedding offerings such as:

"Wedding Weekend Rooftop Welcome"

"After-Party Buyout Experience"

"Farewell Brunch Packages"

Perform other duties as required by your leader

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven success selling and servicing social events with a strong revenue focus

Strong prospecting, negotiation, and pipeline management skills

Exceptional client communication and relationship-building abilities

Highly organized with strong attention to detail across multiple events

Comfortable supporting brand visibility through social media and on-property storytelling

Collaborative, service-driven, and aligned with Pyramid Global Hospitality values

Minimum 2+ years of experience in hotel sales, catering/event sales, or restaurant/lounge event sales

Wedding and social event sales experience preferred

Experience with CRM and event systems (e.g., Delphi/FDC, CI/TY, Sertifi, or similar) preferred

Familiarity with basic content tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut) a plus

Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays

On-property presence required for tours, client meetings, events, programming, and activations
