Here's how a Software Developer for PCL Constructors Inc. within Edmonton NAHQ contributes to our team:

This role is being offered as a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities
  • Customizing ERP systems using ERP platform development tools.
  • Creating and executing automated tests and performing developer testing before deployment.
  • Managing and supporting build creation and update deployment to development and test environments.
  • Developing, troubleshooting, and enhancing custom-built applications.
  • Responding to tier-three requests for technical support.
  • Following established processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving application defects and issues.
  • Maintaining and performing technology upgrades on ERP system customizations and on custom-built applications.
  • Incorporating AI agents and/or tools to assist with work assignments.
  • Breaking down solution designs into development tasks and estimating effort.
  • Communicating project progress, issues, risks, and changes throughout development.
  • Evaluating and recommending alternative technical solutions.
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and reports.
  • Researching and recommending new technologies, enhancements, and best practices.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members as required.
  • Developing and maintaining strong, customer-focused relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in software development or a related field.
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in computer technology or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with web-based development using Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with C#, .NET, and Azure Functions.
  • Experience with SQL Server databases and Transact-SQL.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot, Git, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, Visual Studio Code, or similar development tools.
  • Understanding of software design patterns, AI-assisted development, Mobile Development, CI/CD automation, application architecture, and API-based development.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, XP, and Agile.
  • Ability to learn business processes and recommend technical solutions.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Security and reliability-first mindset.
  • Customization experience using X++ for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or other ERP systems is considered a significant asset.
