Interior Design Project Coordinator | Studio & Design Coordinator (Part-Time)

Location: Rochester Hills, MI (Hybrid) Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week

Join a High-End Residential Interior Design Studio

 

An established luxury residential interior design firm is seeking an experienced Studio & Design Coordinator to help keep projects, clients, and operations running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a highly organized environment and enjoys being the hub that keeps complex design projects moving forward.

Working alongside an experienced design team, you'll coordinate luxury residential new construction and renovation projects from concept through installation while helping deliver an exceptional client experience.

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for a proactive professional who enjoys solving problems, managing details, improving processes, and taking ownership of their work.

 

What You'll Do

 

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate residential interior design projects from initial planning through installation
  • Maintain organized digital project files and documentation
  • Track timelines, selections, approvals, specifications, and outstanding items
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, and trade partners
  • Schedule meetings, site visits, deliveries, and installations
  • Prepare meeting agendas, document notes, and follow up on action items

 

Design Support

  • Create polished client presentations and design boards
  • Organize finish schedules, specifications, and product information
  • Assist with furniture, fixture, finish, and material research
  • Maintain the design library and sample inventory
  • Support client meetings and project installations

 

Client Experience

  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and contractors
  • Help deliver a polished, luxury-level customer experience
  • Keep clients informed throughout the design and construction process
  • Ensure projects remain organized, responsive, and detail-oriented

 

Studio Operations

  • Improve workflows and internal systems
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to increase efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve organization and communication
  • Provide general operational support wherever needed

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong technology aptitude and willingness to learn new software
  • Experience with Canva or similar presentation software
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar) or comparable platforms
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, or similar design software is a plus but not required
  • Reliable transportation for occasional site visits and installations
