HDR is seeking an Architectural Design Intern to join our growing Atlanta studio and support our commitment to achieving
a regenerative and carbon-balanced building portfolio by 2030.

At HDR, internships are an essential opportunity for emerging designers to gain experience and build knowledge.
As an Architectural Design Intern, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience working on exciting projects, including healthcare, water, and master planning.
- Connect with peers and leaders through mentoring programs and our Young Professionals Network.
- Work under the guidance of architects, project managers, and other professionals on real assignments.
- Participate in the full design process, developing alternative solutions and creating presentation graphics to
communicate
concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate on design development, including drawings and models, and assist production teams with technical detail
and construction documents.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support project success.
Preferred Qualification
- 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry (including Rhino)
- Experience and/or interest in low-carbon and healthy material
- Experience and/or interest in regenerative design/LBC
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED/SDG
- Experience and/or interest in Fitwel/WELL
- Experience and/or interest in AIA Framework for Design Excellence
- Preference given to local candidate.
