Job description

Student Assistant - Cartersville Student Center

This position is responsible primarily for monitoring the Student Center and assisting in Student Life, Intramurals, Athletics and any other event in the Student Center. This is an on-site position. Applicant must be a current Georgia Highlands Student.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the gym, weight room and cardio
  • Create an atmosphere where students are comfortable and safe
  • Take various steps to ensure only students, faculty or staff are using the facilities
  • Monitor the game room and check-out equipment
  • Assist admissions in tours to prospective students
  • Assist in Open Houses and Instant Enrollment Night
  • Assist in any Student Center events when necessary
  • Participate in all training sessions
  • Collaborate with various clubs and Student Life for events
  • Represent the college in a positive manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to lift and move equipment
  • Able to take directions and show initiative
  • Ability to balance a variety of activities, including academic and extracurricular
  • A strong role model to other students
  • At least one semester completed at GHC
Proposed Salary

$12.00 per hour, up to 19 hours per week, flexible schedule
