Job Summary

The Department of Marketing at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Student Assistant Pool.

Under direct supervision, Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized in various positions that typically require manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skills. More specifically:

-Provide assistance to faculty and Department Chair in administrative course tasks.

-Assist the departmental office with the marketing program in providing guidance and information to students.

-Assist faculty with service duties

-Assist administrative support coordinator and administrative assistant with clerical duties.

-Meet regularly with a faculty supervisor, in-person, by phone, or by email.

Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Specific job duties are defined by the appropriate campus department. Student Assistants may work up to, but not in excess of, 20 hours per week during academic periods and may work up to 40 hours per week during academic break periods.

This is a pool of Student Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary. APPOINTMENTS FROM THE POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
