Job description

Overview
Student Affairs at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Assistant in Student Conduct! This individual will work in the Melton Student Center, Suite 1206, with Auburn Cares and Student Conduct. Student Assistants interact with a wide variety of clientele and must demonstrate a willingness to meet the needs and expectations of these groups. Student Assistants must always represent Auburn University and Student Affairs in a positive manner.
This appointment is for Summer 2026; however, it may be extended into the 2026-2027 academic year subject to the availability of work hours.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain order in work environment including copier area, lobby, and conference room
  • Provide excellent customer service to each visitor to the office
  • Answer telephones courteously and provide caller with helpful, accurate information
  • Deliver packages across campus as needed
  • Assist in the mailing, filing, or shredding of documents as needed
  • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities and business transactions
  • Maintain and update existing online database system
  • Other duties as assigned

Enrolled student at Auburn University.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expectations:
  • Professionalism, initiative, adaptability, multi-tasking skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of cordiality.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
