Human Ecology
Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the School of Human Ecology as a Teaching Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. The Student Worker will support Dr. Swati Goel, an Assistant Professor in Interior Architecture and Design, in teaching and providing timely one-on-one feedback to current students in INDS 2435 Design Studio 1.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities

• Attends and participates in one-on-one feedback sessions with Design Studio 1 students from 11:20 a.m.-12:50 p.m. and 4:00-5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays
• Meets with the professor for two hours each week to assist with evaluations and other class-related activities
• Maintains a minimum of two hours of fixed, in-person office hours each week to provide support and guidance to Studio students
• Works independently and completes weekly tasks assigned by the professor
• Demonstrates strong organizational and time-management skills while effectively managing multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines
• Maintains confidentiality and appropriately handles sensitive student information in accordance with FERPA requirements

Shift Specifics

• Up to 10 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education

• Working toward a bachelor's degree in a design or related field
• Completed and passed INDS 2435 Design Studio 1 with a B+ or above

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
