Job description

Overview

ThinkBIG is designed to prepare individuals to become successful, CAT dealer technicians, and future leaders in our industry. Students will learn how to work on many types of Caterpillar equipment including agricultural, construction, and earthmoving equipment. The Dealer Service Technology Program combines technical and academic education with real world experience through paid on-the-job training. Throughout this 4-year program, students will learn about engine fundamentals, machine hydraulics, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions and torque converters, undercarriage, final drives and more!

Once you have been accepted into this world-class program, you will have the opportunity to experience future careers firsthand through on-the-job training, designated mentors, and working alongside high performing teams that truly want you to succeed. Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn an Associate's Degree of Applied Science from San Joaquin Delta College and join the Quinn Company's family as full-time employees.

Wages

Starting wage for the Think Big Student will depend on experience and education. $23.00

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities for the Think Big Student include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Successfully complete placement testing, achieving minimum college requirements at San Joaquin Delta College and have a minimum score of 70 on the mechanical aptitude test.Be available to alternate 9 weeks at Delta College with 9 weeks at the Dealership during the first two years of the program. Complete all required general education and Caterpillar classes at San Joaquin Delta College with at least a 2.0 GPA ("C" Average) in each class. Complete all required e-learning. Successfully complete job assignments as directed by the mentor at each dealership. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout the program and after completion of the program. Demonstrate Quinn Company Values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Quality, and Service. Upon graduation, work full time as an Think BIG Apprentice for two years to attain Journey Level certificate.

Qualifications

Program Requirements:High School diploma or GED. High school seniors getting ready to graduate from high school are also eligible to apply.Minimum three letters of recommendation.Mechanical aptitude test Completion of ThinkBIG interview.
