Student Worker (Interlibrary)

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Supervisors, an ILL Assistant performs work in the Fulfillment/Interlibrary Loan department. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

  • Utilizing our Library and ILL systems, the Fulfillment/ILL Student Assistant will process Resource-Sharing requests (Borrowing and Lending) and Hold and Digitization requests.
  • Search online library resources including general web searching.
  • Locate and pull books from the library stacks, and digitize print items and microforms.
  • Package books that need to be shipped to libraries and patrons, and process them through our UPS system.
  • Open and process mail received from libraries and patrons and enter statistical data as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to adhere to agreed-upon work schedules, including some early morning and/or weekend hours.
  • Excellent research and investigative skills, including the ability to complete extensive research queries using internet resources.
  • Physical stamina to push loaded carts, shelve heavy books, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Follows verbal and written instructions and learns quickly.

Salary: $12.77 - $14.77 per hour
