Job Summary
This role is essential to the daily operations of University Communications & Marketing (UCM), capturing dynamic and engaging imagery from campus events, including concerts, theatre productions, athletics, and other activities. Additionally, the position supports our in-house photo studio, providing hands-on experience with various photographic lighting techniques.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include photographing and filming campus locations and events, creating engaging video content, editing both photos and videos using post-production software, organizing the photo gallery, and archiving files. Due to the fast-paced nature of university events, some evening and weekend work is required.
Required Qualifications

• Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for at least six credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience using Digital-Single-Lens-Reflex (DSLR) cameras and lenses.
• Proficiency in photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and/or GIMP.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and handle confidential information responsibly.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency.
• Needs to be able to work 15 ¿20 hours a week.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs., transporting photography equipment, navigating stairs, and working for extended periods without interruption.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with capturing and editing video content using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro.
• Knowledge of advanced photography techniques, including studio lighting, composition, and color correction.
• Familiarity with social media trends and best practices for photo and video content.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong storytelling skills to create visually compelling photo and video content.
• Experience operating professional camera equipment, including stabilizers, gimbals, and microphones.
