Job description

Location: Bremerton, Washington (In-person)

Type: Non-Exempt, Temporary

Compensation: $17.13 per hour

Work Schedule: As assigned

As a Summer Academy Student Intern, you'll... The Summer Academy Student Interns will report to the Community Employment Services (CES) Department and support a vetted Employer Partner. The intern is placed into a competitive, integrated, real work setting outside of the traditional school setting, where they get paid at the state prevailing minimum wage for a minimum of 5 hours a week to perform a non-permanent job at a partner employer's worksite outside of Tessera or at a Tessera site. The internship shall be (40) hours and not exceed (12) weeks.

  • Have the desire and motivation to participate in, learn, and benefit from an employment experience through Tessera Summer Academy program

  • Demonstrate independence, motivation, and stability.

  • Independently take care of any personal care and medication needs.

  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude.

  • Must complete partner employer onboarding.

  • Perform non-permanent job tasks at a partner employer's worksite or Tessera site.

  • All Other Duties as Assigned.

Summary of qualifications and requirements for the Tessera Summer Academy Student Intern:

  • Must be a registered student in Tessera Summer Academy.

  • Must have a record of satisfactory attendance at previous schools.

  • Must remain an active participant throughout the length of the program.

  • Must receive a recommendation from the Pre-ETS Coordinator.

  • Must have reliable transportation to/from internship site.

  • Must be able to navigate a workplace setting safely and independently.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must be able to pass Washington State DSHS background check.

  • A valid state driver's license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
