Job description


Program Manager I

The University of Alabama at Birmingham

Job Summary:

Responsible for administratively managing Graduate Clinical Education within the School of Nursing under the general direction of a functional Program Director or under the auspices of a Program Advising Committee and according to an established program plan. Provides significant administrative and operational support to the Assistant Dean for Graduate Clinical Education and serves as a liaison among students, faculty, staff and university partners. Coordinates student-facing events, meetings, webinars, orientations, intensives and course support activities. Manages program data, course materials, clinical education systems and documentation to support student success, program operations, accreditation and the School's academic mission.

Participates in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving objectives within defined parameters set by University and/or department policies and procedures or technical principles. Uses independent judgment to determine the best approach to accomplish objectives established in the program plan. Manages multiple programs, program initiatives, grants and other funds. Supports curriculum planning, academic policies, accreditation compliance, evaluation and continuous improvement. Supervises staff as needed.
 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1.     Maintains course materials, announcements, deadlines and communications within designated student information and learning platforms.

2.     Responds to student inquiries and supports course waiver, transfer, graduation and Application for Degree processes.

3.     Maintains clinical education systems, student licensure records, evaluations and regulatory documentation.

4.     Develops and tracks surveys through Qualtrics and compiles feedback for program improvement.

5.     Collects, maintains and reports data required for program, accreditation and administrative purposes.

6.     Coordinates program projects and committees and tracks timelines, outcomes and action items.

7.     Processes travel, reimbursements, purchasing, payments and related financial transactions and assists with budget monitoring.

8.     Manages calendars and supports leadership with reports, presentations, correspondence, manuscripts and other professional materials.

9.     Handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism and sound judgment.

10.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range: $43,890.00-71,320.00

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
