Bucks County Community College seeks an experienced, collaborative, and results-oriented Director of Recruitment and Admissions to provide strategic leadership for the College's student recruitment and admissions efforts.

The Director leads the Admissions team and is responsible for translating institutional enrollment goals into clear strategies, priorities, and measurable action. This role combines strong people leadership with data-informed decision-making, recruitment strategy, admissions oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to attract, engage, and enroll students.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, adaptable leader with a demonstrated record of success in higher education recruitment and admissions and the ability to build a strong team, respond to changing enrollment conditions, and continuously improve the prospective student experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop Admissions staff while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and shared responsibility for enrollment outcomes.

  • Create a strong team culture centered on initiative, collaboration, follow-through, continuous improvement, and student service.

  • Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive annual recruitment plan aligned with College enrollment goals and priorities.

  • Use application, enrollment, yield, conversion, demographic, geographic, event, and other relevant data to establish priorities, evaluate results, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies.

  • Monitor the prospective student funnel from inquiry through application, admission, registration, and enrollment and lead efforts to improve conversion and yield.

  • Lead recruitment outreach and engagement with prospective students, families, high schools, community organizations, and other partners.

  • Oversee open houses, campus visits, information sessions, recruitment programs, yield activities, and other prospective student events.

  • Ensure recruitment activities are planned proactively, executed effectively, and evaluated for their impact on enrollment.

  • Provide leadership for admissions processes and ensure prospective students receive timely, accurate, responsive, and student-centered support.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline admissions processes, reduce barriers, and improve the prospective student experience.

  • Work closely with Enrollment Communications and Marketing and Communications to develop coordinated recruitment campaigns, messaging, digital outreach, and prospective student communications.

  • Ensure effective use of CRM and enrollment technologies to support lead management, outreach, communication, event management, and enrollment conversion.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships across College departments and divisions and communicate emerging issues, opportunities, and recommendations proactively.

  • Stay current on emerging trends, best practices, technologies, demographic shifts, student expectations, and competitive factors affecting higher education recruitment and admissions.

  • Respond with agility to changing enrollment conditions, student needs, market opportunities, and institutional priorities, adjusting strategies and resources as appropriate.

  • Develop and manage the Recruitment and Admissions budget and ensure resources are aligned with enrollment priorities.

  • Represent the College at recruitment, community, school, and professional events.

  • Maintain appropriate oversight of international admissions and SEVP responsibilities, as assigned.

  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in higher education, education, business administration, marketing, communications, psychology, counseling, student affairs, enrollment management, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, or a closely related area.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising and developing professional staff.

  • Proven record of success developing and implementing higher education recruitment strategies that resulted in measurable improvement in applications, enrollment, yield, conversion, or related enrollment outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to use enrollment data and metrics to establish priorities, assess results, and inform decision-making.

  • Experience using CRM, student information systems, or other enrollment-related technologies.

  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with external partners.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel locally in support of recruitment activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Significant leadership experience within a college or university admissions or enrollment management operation.

  • Experience in a community college or open-access institution serving diverse student populations and multiple enrollment pathways.

  • Experience developing recruitment strategies for multiple student populations, including traditional-age students, adult learners, transfer students, and other targeted populations.

  • Experience managing recruitment funnels, conversion strategies, and yield initiatives.

  • Experience with CRM segmentation, automated communications, enrollment analytics, and recruitment dashboards.

  • Experience with international student admissions and SEVP regulations.

  • Experience with Element451, Ellucian Colleague, Workday Student, or comparable enrollment systems.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be a strategic and engaged leader who can translate enrollment goals into clear plans, measurable action, and strong team performance. They will bring initiative, sound judgment, accountability, strong follow-through, and a collaborative approach to the work.

They will be curious, forward-thinking, and adaptable, with the ability to recognize changing conditions, evaluate new approaches, and move quickly from insight to action. They will be comfortable using data to make decisions while remaining closely connected to the experiences of prospective students and families.

Most importantly, they will develop a team that understands its role not simply as processing applications, but as actively helping students move from initial interest through enrollment.

Salary Range $74,000 to $80,000 (commensurate with directly related experience)
