Job Description
Student Ambassadors are current Kishwaukee College students hired to educate
new/prospective students and families about the College. Professionalism and the
ability to effectively communicate are key qualifications in addition to flexibility
of work hours. General duties include but are not limited to:
  • Schedule and deliver campus tours for prospective students and their families.
  • Assist with College-wide events such as Discover Kish, High School Counselor Breakfast, Visit Day, High School One Stop events, graduation,
    etc. This includes greeting and/or checking in visitors, offering directions,
    guiding tours, participating in student panels, etc.
  • Respond to general inquiries and communicate with prospective students in a variety of settings including face-to-face, e-mail, and over the phone.
    Topics may include the admissions process, financial aid, student
    involvement, and support services available.
  • Facilitate interaction among visitors during tours, orientation sessions, high school visits, etc.
  • Represent Kishwaukee College in a positive and professional manner by providing excellent customer service to students and visitors.
  • Maintain, process, and organize documents related to One Stop services.
  • Support the Student Services, Student Outreach, and/or Financial Aid Office by assisting with answering phones, assisting with applications,
    entering prospect information, scheduling academic/counseling
    appointments as well as placement testing appointments, and assisting
    with email mailbox management.
  • Assist with general office tasks such as organizing supplies or data entry.
  • Work with spreadsheets to support outreach efforts and event coordination.
  • Use a variety of systems to access student records while adhering to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) confidentiality
    guidelines.
  • Provide additional departmental support as assigned
