Student Financial Assistance Advisor (Dual Credit Scholarship and Work Ready Dual Credit Scholarship)
Full Time, In Office Position
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm
PG 8E; Minimum Salary $35,823 Yearly

SUMMARY
The Student Financial Assistance Advisor provides specialized administrative services to operational areas relating to the administration of student financial aid programs, primarily the Dual Credit Scholarship (DCS) and Work Ready Dual Credit Scholarship (WKDC) programs.
JOB DUTIES
  • Serve as the primary agency contact and coordinator for the DCS and WKDC programs. Responsibilities include managing the application process, awarding, disbursing and reconciling funds, and coordinating program notifications.
  • Communicate with students, parents, high schools, postsecondary institutions, the Kentucky Department of Education, and others regarding program areas.
  • Maintain applications, forms, and program information as necessary.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the KHEAA database and other computerized systems used within the agency, including processes used to query and retrieve information.
  • Work with technology staff to maintain and enhance the database systems for program areas of responsibility.
  • Conduct effective analysis and prepare in-depth reports for management.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of statutes and regulations for program areas of responsibility; review and evaluate processes and procedures; provide recommendations to management to make program administration more efficient and cost-effective.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all programs administered by the Student Aid Branch.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree.
  • Two years of experience in educational administration, public administration, or financial administration. At least one year of administrative experience in student financial aid is preferred.
  • Experience in educational administration, public administration, financial administration, or administrative experience in student financial aid will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience working with word processing software and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly attentive to detail and accuracy.
