Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center, requiring ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT certification and MRI experience across multiple procedure types.

Details
  • Level I Trauma Center with 492 beds, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
  • Radiology department serving inpatient and outpatient adult patients, with occasional pediatric outpatient/ED cases
  • Average of 4 patients per hour (approximately 40 patients per day) at a 1:1 ratio
  • MRI procedures include Head/Neck, Abdomen, Pelvis, Spine, Extremities, and MRAs
  • Uses GE Artist 1.5T MRI equipment and Cerner EMR
  • 10-hour mid shifts, starting at 11:00 AM, 40 standard hours per week
  • Weekend rotation varies, typically once per month based on departmental needs
  • Voluntary on-call requirement
  • Floats throughout the Radiology department to different areas as needed
Requirements
  • BLS and ARRT required
  • ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT certification required for MRI Tech role
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required, or 2+ years for first-time travelers
  • Strong experience with required MRI skills necessary
  • License required if applicable
Additional Information
  • Fast-paced, high-acuity work environment
  • Orientation includes 1 8-hour hospital orientation and 2-3 shifts on the unit with another tech on dayshift
  • Techs are responsible for purchasing their own markers
  • Scrubs may be any color
  • Free parking provided
  • MRI typically staffed with one tech and a possible student on weekends, with two techs until 7:30 PM on Fridays
  • Centralized transport available Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-5:30 PM and weekends 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, with additional transport support for ER patients on weekends
  • Holiday coverage required for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy, though not guaranteed off prior to arrival
  • Requests for time off exceeding 7 days require manager approval and contract extension
  • First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Returning perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as travelers
  • Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
