POSITION: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday daytime hours
FACILITY: Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility
LOCATION: Berlin, New Hampshire (onsite)

Position Summary
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at our facility, you'll provide comprehensive psychiatric care and serve as a vital member of the behavioral health team. Collaborating with medical, nursing, and mental health staff, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions
  • Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications and monitoring therapeutic response
  • Ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting lab results as needed for ongoing treatment
  • Providing education and counseling to patients on mental health, medications, and wellness
  • Developing individualized treatment plans and ensuring continuity of care
  • Documenting all clinical activity using the SOAP format in the EMR system
  • Providing consultation and support to mental health and nursing personnel
  • Performing psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, and participating in facility rounds
  • Participating in staff education, orientation, and in-service mental health training
  • Supporting crisis response efforts and guiding care interventions as clinically indicated

What You'll Need
  • Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Active unrestricted APRN license in state of practice.
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification required.
  • Active applicable Controlled Substance Registration/License/Certification in state of practice.
  • Active DEA license required.
  • Active CPR certification required.
  • Experience in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management (Correctional experience preferred).
  • Strong clinical judgement, emotional resilience, and a patient-focused mindset.
