Job description

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) and Renown Health are recruiting for an Associate Program Director for our Psychiatry Residency Program. The full-time position is for a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Psychiatrist.

Position Highlights:

  • Associate Program Director for our ACGME accredited Psychiatry Residency Program which has 8 residents per class.
  • Potential for future growth and development into a Program Director role.
  • Full-time academic appointment with a robust clinical practice in Psychiatry across various outpatient multidisciplinary clinics and potential for specialty clinics in collaboration with therapists.  
  • Protected time for program administration, mentorship, scholarly activity, including education, QI, or clinical research.
  • Monday – Friday schedule

  • Active participation in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and PA students
  • Opportunities to contribute academically through curriculum development, simulation education, or research initiatives

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO and Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, teaching and scholarly activity
  • Eligible for Nevada medical licensure, state pharmacy and DEA
