SALARY RANGE:ย $70,304-$70,304

commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Definition of Classification:

The Compliance and Student Success Coordinator ensures institutional adherence to NCAA Division III rules and regulations while fostering the academic and personal development of student-athletes. This position manages compliance operations, eligibility certification and transfer processes and leads student-athlete success initiatives, including life skills programming and academic support.

Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations/SWA, this position will serve as a liaison between athletics, faculty and student life to promote holistic student-athlete development.

This position is partially funded by the NCAA Pathway to Excellence Grant.

This position requires flexibility to work evening and weekend hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Compliance (45%)
โ€ข Monitor and enforce NCAA Division III, SCIAC and University of Redlands rules and policies.
โ€ข Manage student-athlete eligibility certification in coordination with the Registrarโ€™s office and Student Life.
โ€ข Oversee the transfer and international student-athlete eligibility process including, but not limited to: NCAA portal entries and amateurism certification.
โ€ข Prepare and submit required NCAA and conference annual reports (e.g. annual compliance attestations, sports sponsorship and demographic forms etc.)
โ€ข Maintain compliance systems (Teamworks, LSDBi, Eligibility Center, etc.) and accurate documentation.
โ€ข Conduct rules education sessions for coaches, staff and student-athletes
โ€ข Oversee NIL declarations
โ€ข Assist with investigations and self-reporting of violations

Student Success (45%)
โ€ข Monitor academic progress and eligibility for all student-athletes.
โ€ข Coordinate academic support services, including tutoring referrals and study hall programs
โ€ข Develop and implement life skills programming (e.g., leadership, career readiness, financial literacy, wellness etc.) in collaboration with other University offices.
โ€ข Serve as the liaison between athletics, faculty and student life to promote holistic student-athlete development.
โ€ข Organize workshops and events that integrate campus resources into student-athlete experiences

Other (10%)
โ€ข Special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics or the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations/SWA
โ€ข Represent athletics on campus committees related to student success and compliance

Qualifications Guidelines:

Any combination of experience/training/education equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

Required

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree required; masterโ€™s preferred
โ€ข 1-3 years of experience in NCAA Compliance, student-athlete academic support, or related roles.
โ€ข Familiarity with NCAA Division III rules and regulations
โ€ข A valid California Class C CA driversโ€™ license with a good driving record is required. Note: Out-of-state licenses are valid until appointment. A valid California Class โ€œCโ€ driverโ€™s license must be obtained within ten (10) days of appointment (in accordance with CA Vehicle Code 12505c).

Knowledge and Skills:

โ€ข Strong understanding of NCAA compliance areas: eligibility, transfers, amateurism, recruiting and reporting.
โ€ข Ability to interpret and apply NCAA bylaws and institutional policies
โ€ข Excellent Organizational skills for managing multiple deadlines and detailed records.
โ€ข Communicate effectively and follow instructions, both verbally and in writing.
โ€ข Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with coaches, faculty and student-athletes.
โ€ข Aptitude to learn new and evolving technology and recommend ways to improve positionโ€™s efficiency.
โ€ข Knowledge of FERPA and student privacy regulations
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
โ€ข Experience working with Teamworks (ARMS) software.
โ€ข Ability to exercise discretion and work with confidentiality.
โ€ข Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.

Working Conditions:

Standard office setting. Duties performed are primarily in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation or in meetings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.

Physical Demands:

Incumbents regularly sit for long periods; walk short distances on a regular basis; may travel to various locations to attend meetings and conduct work; use hands and fingers to operate an electronic keyboard or other office machines; reach with hands and arms; stoop or kneel or crouch to file; climb stairs; speak clearly and distinctly to answer telephones and to provide information; see to read fine print and operate computer; hear and understand voices over telephone and in person; and lift, carry and/or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
